Our Institute is dedicated to the teaching and understanding of Chinese language, culture and dance in the Puget Sound region. We believe that learning should be a positive and memorable experience; fun and sc hool should go hand in hand! Under the instruction of Melody Xie, we strive to tailor our classes around students' needs, skills, and interests.

Our Classes are centered solely around the students, as classes should be. Curriculum varies greatly, from class to class, quarter to quarter, because no two classes are ever the same. Melody's extensive experience and research in child development is reflected in classes, which are filled with a variety of engaging developmental activities to enhance the materials. We will always limit the size of our classes for optimal learning, regardless of demand. This allows for more individualized, engaging, and focused learning.

Our Goals are to foster an appreciation of Chinese culture and language while making the talent of our members available to the community, improving the students' self-confidence and leadership skills, and the promotion of international understanding, harmony, and friendship.

Our Group is the Melody Dance Group (formerly known as the Melody Preformance Group) and comprised of dance students at the Institute. Active in the Pacific Northwest for more than 10 years, the Melody Dance Group has performed in a number of events including, but not limited to, the Folklife Festival, Juan de Fuca Festival of the Arts, Seattle Center's Chinese Arts and Culture Festival, and Winterfest. The group also actively volunteers by performing for senior centers, schools, and community centers.
